Playing the building is a 2005-09 project by Musician David Byrne who connected a piano to a series of devices that make the building around releasing a sound. The sounds can thus be combinated which ultimately creates a symphony that John Cage would have probably not deny. Each visitor of the exhibition are encouraged to try this building instrument that develops a peculiar way of interacting with a building Thanks Martin !

Following you'll see "Doubt" the last clip of the English band Delphic , it's directed by the talented Andrew Wang . This video is pretty much inspired by the great work of the two english artists Lucy Mc Rae and Bart Hess works, that every one must have seen on many other blogs... but the video is a nice mix between real body extensions and digital ones brought into a strange and cold atmosphere. Our very talented friend, Viktor Timofeev (see previous posts ) will be opening his two exhibitions called LOCAL_AREA_NETWORK[s] in London and in Cologne on January 14th and January 15th. During those openings, he will join Bryce Hackford for creating a improvised sound in relation with Viktor's paintings and drawings. Here is the text related to this improvised creation: Bryce and Viktor met in 2004 at Hunter College, New York, where they began collaborating on music projects. They have made pop songs and sound pieces in repetitive and environmental styles and create unique bodies of work in correspondence between Brooklyn and Berlin. Bryce has a band in Brooklyn called Behavior (occasionally featuring Viktor), experimenting with recording mediums and effects in special new style some have called 'hypnagogic pop'. Okay, it may sounds basics for French people, but it is quite impossible to write several articles about Saint Denis without writing one about French Hip-Hop band NTM . If you don't know them, I would say they sound a bit like Public Enemy in US and are still considered nowadays as the louddest voice of Paris' northern suburbs. Fifteen years after, problems are exactly the same and no other solution is considered that increasing repression... There are some very big urbanism issues there, but it seems that there is no will from any state to work on it. Best movie you would probably watch about this issue may be Matthieu Kassowitz's La Haine (1995) NTM's albums: 1991: Authentik 1993: 1993, j'appuie sur la gachette (1993, I pull the trigger) 1995: Paris sous les bombes (Paris under attack) 1998: Suprême NTM
